Is ClimateTab used for corporate or product-level accounting?
Both. Corporate accounting follows the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard, Scope 2 Guidance and Scope 3 Standard, and ISO 14064-1. Product-level accounting follows the GHG Protocol Product Standard and ISO 14067. Because both are built on the same inventory, you can switch between absolute corporate emissions and product-level intensities with a click.
Which emission factors are included?
Scope 1, 2 and 3 factors from sources including the IPCC, US EPA and UK DEFRA, plus ClimateTab’s proprietary emission factors. Factors come in many units, so you can enter data without converting it first. Scope 3 can be calculated spend-based or activity-based.
How does ClimateTab handle organizational boundaries?
Switch between operational control, financial control and equity share with a click. You set the equity share of each asset when you structure your portfolio, and it is applied automatically whenever the equity share view is on.
How does ClimateTab handle Scope 2?
Enter activity data once and report both location-based and market-based results, using grid-average or residual-mix factors as appropriate. Supplier-specific factors from PPAs, energy attribute certificates or I-RECs can be added to your subscription.
